Shaggy Fetch the Dog
When my boyfriend and I started dating, he told me he had night terrors. He said he had read that having a stuffed animal helps, and mentioned how he wanted to get himself one eventually. We hadn't been dating very long, but Christmas was around the corner and I knew I wanted to get him something special, so I began searching for the perfect stuffed animal. I looked everywhere, but nothing really felt sentimental enough. I started doing my own research regarding adults with stuffed animals and the ways they can help with trauma and I found an article with a link to Bunnies by the Bay. I was immediately enchanted by the adorable and unique designs, but one caught my eye in particular. My boyfriend had left his home town to pursue more opportunities in my city, but in doing so, he had to leave his dog, his best friend, behind. His pup was used to open lands and he knew he wouldn't do well being cooped up in an apartment in the city, so he decided it would be in his best interests to leave his dog with his family, and he missed him so very much. He would show me photos and tell me stories about his dog; particularly, he would talk about how scruffy he was, and how he missed petting his fur, so when I saw Shaggy Fetch the Dog, I knew it was meant to be. While he is small, his fur is textured to give a wire-like appearance, just like my boyfriend's best buddy. When my boyfriend opened him up at Christmas, I told him why I gave him this gift, and he cried. He has slept with him ever since, and I have never been more happy nor more fulfilled. Small things can really show how much you love someone, and Shaggy Fetch helped me give all of the love I wanted to show to my partner. I highly recommend Bunnies by the Bay for their unique designs and ideals behind what it means to have a stuffed animal. Even as an adult, there is still something magical about having a special stuffie.
