Even the Easter Bunny has a sweet tooth. This glazed trail mix is the perfect combination of sweet and salty, sure to be a huge hit. We love to make this and put in goody bags to deliver to friends and family as a sweet surprise or serve as an easy Easter treat at any time around this special holiday.
Kids love to help in the kitchen, and in this recipe, there is quite a few ways they can join in on the fun. Let them combine the dry ingredients all themselves. Measure out the ingredients, and then just tell them to divide it between the two dishes. With "squeaky clean" hands they can use their little fingers to mix it up, just tell them to be gentle and challenge them not to make a "crunch". Once the glazed trail mix has cooled they can sprinkle in the M&M Candies, and once again can use little hands to gently mix, and then package in the goody bags.

One Stick Butter
1/2 Cup Light Karo Syrup
One Box Crispix Cereal
6 Cups Cheerios
3 Cups Pretzel Twists
2 Cups Mixed Nuts
Plain and/or Peanut M&M Candies in Easter Pastel Colors
Step One: Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Step Two: Divide Crispix, Cheerios, pretzels and mixed nuts evenly between two 13 * 9 baking dishes. Stir gently to combine.
Step Three: To create the glaze, combine butter, brown sugar and Karo syrup in a saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil. Boil for 2 minutes.
Step Four: Pour the glaze evenly over the dry mixture and stir gently, careful not to crush the mixture, or over mix.
Step Five: Place the baking dishes in preheated over and back for 8 minutes. Remove from oven and stir. Return to oven and bake for 8 minutes more.
* While baking prepare a large part of a heat resistant counter or tabletop with parchment paper or aluminum foil to place the trail mix on to cool.
Step Six: Remove trail mix from oven and spread out on the prepared cooling surface, breaking apart clumps gently with a rubber spatula. Let cool completely.
Step Seven: Once completely cool, add the M&M Candies evenly to the mixture.
Step Eight: Package the trail mix in goody bags for gifting and close tightly with ribbon or yarn, or place in an airtight container for storage. Use within 3-5 days for best taste.
